Colin's business experience has been gained as a senior and middle manager with Global Lightning Technologies, the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Telstra. In 1999 he established Business Guidance and Assistance Pty Ltd as a result of identifying an unfulfilled need for broad focused Business Development consulting within the business community.

His experience is supported by academic achievement as a Bachelor of Business (BBus) from the University of Tasmania, and as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors where he is admitted as a Fellow (FAICD). He is a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants (MIMC) and the Australian Institute of Management (AIMM).

As a business development manager Colin has directed his experience toward assisting business with venture development and the commercialisation of several significant business opportunities, largely through an ability to develop local, national and international business networks. During his experience as a business and product development manager he managed markets in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Since 1999 Colin has focused his experience and achievement into guiding and assisting small to medium enterprises to implement business development practices at a governance and operations level to improve business returns. These businesses are found in industries such as agri/aquaculture, IT, tourism, engineering fabrication, manufacturing, retailing, publishing, automotive, medical, professional services and food (to name a few).
